Terms of Service

Effective date: May 21, 2026 Last updated: May 21, 2026

Welcome to Senior Dog Daily (seniordogdaily.com — the "Site"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and Sarah Bennett, doing business as Senior Dog Daily ("we," "our," or "us"), a sole proprietorship based in the United States.

By using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

A short, plain-English summary

  • We write about senior dog care. We are not veterinarians, and nothing on this Site is medical advice for your specific dog. If your dog is sick or in pain, call a vet.
  • The articles, photos, and other content on the Site belong to us. You can read and share them, but please do not copy them as your own.
  • If you click an affiliate link and buy something, we may earn a small commission. This does not change your price. See our Affiliate Disclosure for details.
  • We try to be accurate, but we cannot guarantee outcomes. You use the Site at your own risk.
  • If you believe we have infringed your copyright, see Section 14 for how to send a notice.
  • These Terms are governed by US law. Disputes are first resolved informally by email — see Section 17.

The rest of this page is the detailed version of the same thing.

1. Acceptance of these Terms

By visiting, reading, subscribing to, commenting on, or otherwise using the Site, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. These Terms apply to every visitor, whether or not you create an account or subscribe to anything.

If you are using the Site on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

2. Eligibility

The Site is intended for adults. By using the Site, you confirm that:

  • You are at least 18 years old, or
  • You are between 13 and 17 (or between 13 and the age of consent in your jurisdiction; see our Privacy Policy) and are using the Site with the involvement of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these Terms on your behalf.

The Site is not directed at children under 13. If you are under 13, please do not use the Site or send us any personal information.

3. What this Site is — and is not

What it is. Senior Dog Daily publishes articles, guides, product reviews, and a newsletter about caring for senior dogs (generally age 7 and older). The content is written by Sarah Bennett, with input from Leo Bennett. We are independent and not affiliated with any veterinary clinic, manufacturer, or retailer except as disclosed in our Affiliate Disclosure.

What it is not. The Site is not a veterinary clinic, telehealth service, pet insurance broker, or licensed retailer. It does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any condition in any animal.

4. Not veterinary advice — important

We are not veterinarians. The content on this Site is for general educational and informational purposes only. It is not a substitute for professional veterinary diagnosis, treatment, or advice tailored to your dog.

Specifically, you understand and agree that:

  • Information on the Site is based on published veterinary literature, veterinary association guidelines, our research, and our personal experience caring for our own dog. It is general guidance, not advice for your dog.
  • Every dog is different. A breed, age, weight, medical history, medication regimen, or symptom we describe may behave differently in your dog.
  • Before making any decision about your dog's health, diet, supplements, medication, exercise, or end-of-life care, consult a licensed veterinarian.
  • If your dog is showing signs of distress, pain, sudden behavioral change, or an acute emergency, contact your veterinarian or an emergency veterinary clinic immediately.
  • We are not responsible for any harm, loss, or expense resulting from reliance on Site content in place of professional veterinary advice.

5. Intellectual property

5.1 Our content

All articles, photographs, illustrations, graphics, logos, layout, code, and other materials on the Site are owned by Sarah Bennett, doing business as Senior Dog Daily, or are used with permission. They are protected by United States copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

5.2 What you may do

You may:

  • Read the Site for personal, non-commercial use.
  • Share a link to one of our articles on social media, in an email, or on your own blog.
  • Quote a short excerpt (up to about 100 words) for non-commercial commentary, criticism, news reporting, or education, provided you credit Senior Dog Daily and link back to the original article. This is consistent with fair use under 17 U.S.C. § 107.

5.3 What you may not do

You may not, without our prior written permission:

  • Copy, republish, or redistribute an entire article or a substantial portion of one.
  • Use our content to train a machine-learning or generative AI model.
  • Use our name, logo, tagline, or any photograph of our dog (Lucy) for commercial purposes.
  • Frame the Site, embed it within another site, or present our content as your own.
  • Remove or alter any copyright, trademark, or attribution notice.

For permission requests, email hello@seniordogdaily.com.

5.4 Trademarks

"Senior Dog Daily," the Senior Dog Daily logo, and the tagline "Older dogs. Bigger hearts. Better days." are trademarks of Sarah Bennett. Other product names, logos, and brands mentioned on the Site are the property of their respective owners and are used for identification only.

6. Affiliate relationships

Some links on the Site are affiliate links. If you click one and make a purchase, we may earn a commission from the merchant. This does not change the price you pay. See our Affiliate Disclosure for a full explanation.

We only recommend products we have researched or used. We do not accept payment in exchange for positive coverage. Our recommendations are our editorial opinion, not professional advice. Whether a product is right for your dog is a decision for you and your veterinarian.

7. Comments and other user submissions

If we enable comments on articles, or if you email us, post on our social channels, or otherwise send us material ("Submissions"), the following applies.

7.1 Your responsibility

Your Submissions are your own. You are solely responsible for what you write. By submitting, you confirm that:

  • The Submission is yours, or you have permission to post it.
  • It does not violate the rights of any other person (copyright, privacy, defamation, or otherwise).
  • It does not contain illegal, harassing, hateful, sexually explicit, threatening, or harmful content.
  • It does not contain spam, malware, or links intended to deceive other readers.

7.2 License you grant us

By making a Submission, you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive, perpetual, irrevocable license to use, display, reproduce, edit, and quote the Submission on the Site and in our newsletter or social channels, with attribution to the name you provided.

7.3 Our moderation

We may, but are not required to, review, edit, or remove any Submission for any reason — including length, clarity, off-topic content, suspected spam, or violation of these Terms. We may close commenting on individual articles or sitewide at any time.

7.4 Veterinary questions in comments

If you ask a specific medical question about your dog in a comment or email, we may publish a general informational reply. This is never a substitute for veterinary care. Section 4 applies in full.

8. Acceptable use

When using the Site, you agree that you will not:

  • Use the Site for any unlawful purpose, or to violate any law in your jurisdiction.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Site, its server, its database, or any related system.
  • Use automated tools (scrapers, bots, crawlers) to harvest content, except for well-behaved search-engine crawlers obeying our robots.txt.
  • Use the Site or its content to train, fine-tune, or evaluate a machine-learning or generative AI model.
  • Interfere with the Site's operation (denial-of-service attacks, deliberately submitting malformed requests, etc.).
  • Send anyone unsolicited bulk email by reference to or in connection with the Site.
  • Misrepresent your identity or impersonate any other person.

We may suspend or block your access if we reasonably believe you have violated any of the above.

9. Third-party links and products

The Site contains links to third-party websites — affiliate merchants, veterinary references, news sources, and others. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, privacy practices, or product quality. A link is not an endorsement of every claim or product on the linked site. Please read each third-party site's own terms and privacy policy before using it.

10. Newsletter and email

If you subscribe to our newsletter, you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any newsletter email, or by emailing sarah@seniordogdaily.com. We may discontinue, change the frequency of, or restructure the newsletter at any time. We use Beehiiv to deliver our newsletter; see our Privacy Policy for details on that processor.

11. Disclaimer of warranties

THE SITE AND ITS CONTENT ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT ANY WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW.

WITHOUT LIMITING THE FOREGOING, WE EXPRESSLY DISCLAIM ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ANY WARRANTIES ARISING FROM A COURSE OF DEALING OR USAGE OF TRADE.

We do not warrant that:

  • The Site or any specific content is accurate, complete, current, or error-free.
  • Use of the Site will be uninterrupted, secure, or free from viruses or other harmful components.
  • Any product, supplement, food, insurance plan, service, or technique mentioned on the Site will be safe, effective, or appropriate for your dog.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties. To the extent any warranty cannot be excluded under your local law, the warranty is limited to the minimum permitted by that law.

12. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL WE BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, LOST DATA, LOST GOODWILL, OR VETERINARY OR OTHER COSTS, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO USE) THE SITE OR ITS CONTENT, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

OUR TOTAL CUMULATIVE LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SITE WILL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED US DOLLARS (US$100).

Some jurisdictions do not allow the limitation or exclusion of liability for incidental or consequential damages, so the limits above may not apply to you in full. In those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the smallest amount permitted by law.

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes any liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded, including liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

13. Indemnification

To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Sarah Bennett, Leo Bennett, and Senior Dog Daily from and against any third-party claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to:

  • Your use of the Site in violation of these Terms or applicable law;
  • A Submission you posted; or
  • Your infringement of any right of any other person.

We will give you prompt notice of any such claim and reasonably cooperate with your defense, at your expense.

14. DMCA / copyright infringement claims

We respect copyright. If you believe content on the Site infringes a copyright you own or control, you may send a notification under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act ("DMCA").

14.1 What to include in your notice

Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3)(A), a valid notice must include all of the following:

  1. A physical or electronic signature of the person authorized to act on behalf of the owner of the copyright that is allegedly infringed.
  2. Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to be infringed (or, if multiple works on the Site are covered by a single notice, a representative list).
  3. Identification of the material on the Site that is claimed to be infringing, including a URL or other information sufficient for us to locate it.
  4. Your contact information — name, mailing address, telephone number, and email.
  5. A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use of the material is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  6. A statement that the information in the notification is accurate, and, under penalty of perjury, that you are authorized to act on behalf of the owner.

14.2 Where to send it

Send the notice to our designated agent:

Sarah Bennett, Designated DMCA Agent Email: sarah@seniordogdaily.com Subject line: "DMCA Notice" Mailing address: [INSERT MAILING ADDRESS BEFORE GO-LIVE — required for DMCA Safe Harbor]

14.3 Counter-notice

If we remove content in response to a notice and you believe the removal was a mistake, you may send a counter-notice meeting the requirements of 17 U.S.C. § 512(g)(3). Send it to the address above.

14.4 Repeat infringers

We will, in appropriate circumstances, terminate access for users who are repeat infringers.

14.5 False notices

Knowingly submitting a false DMCA notice or counter-notice can result in liability under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f).

15. Termination

These Terms remain in effect while you use the Site. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Site, the newsletter, or any feature, at any time and for any reason, including violation of these Terms. You may stop using the Site at any time. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 4, 5, 7.2, 11, 12, 13, 14, 17, and 18) will survive.

16. Changes to these Terms

We may revise these Terms at any time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If a change is material, we will say so prominently on the Site for at least 30 days. Continued use of the Site after a change takes effect means you accept the revised Terms. If you do not accept a change, please stop using the Site.

17. Governing law and dispute resolution

17.1 Governing law

These Terms and any dispute arising out of or relating to them or the Site are governed by the laws of the United States and, to the extent state law applies, by the laws of the US state in which Sarah Bennett resides at the time the dispute arises, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply.

17.2 Informal resolution first

Before filing any formal claim, you agree to try to resolve the dispute informally by sending an email to sarah@seniordogdaily.com with the subject "Dispute" and a description of the issue and the resolution you are seeking. We will respond within 30 days. Most disputes can be resolved this way.

17.3 If informal resolution fails

If we cannot reach a resolution within 60 days of your initial email, either of us may bring a formal claim in a court of competent jurisdiction in the United States, subject to any non-waivable rights you have under your local consumer protection law.

We are not currently requiring binding arbitration or waiver of class actions. If we add such terms in the future, we will give you at least 30 days' notice and an opportunity to opt out.

17.4 Rights of EU, UK, and other consumers

If you are a consumer in the European Union, the United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction whose law gives you non-waivable consumer rights, nothing in these Terms removes or limits those rights. The choice of US law and US courts above applies only to the extent it does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory rules of the law of your country of habitual residence.

18. Miscellaneous

Entire agreement. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, Affiliate Disclosure, and Editorial Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us about the Site and supersede any prior agreements.

Severability. If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the rest of the Terms remain in effect, and the invalid provision will be replaced with one that achieves the original intent to the extent permitted by law.

No waiver. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of our right to enforce it later.

Assignment. You may not assign or transfer your rights under these Terms. We may assign or transfer ours, including in connection with a sale of the Site.

No agency. Nothing in these Terms creates a partnership, joint venture, employment, or agency relationship between you and us.

Notices. We may give notices to you by posting on the Site or by email if you have provided one. You may give notices to us by email at sarah@seniordogdaily.com.
